ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - It will be a red-letter evening for Bill Huizenga, as his son Garrett is sworn in as a new member of Zeeland’s Youth Council. This is a third generation Huizenga stepping into public office, following in the footsteps of not only the freshman Republican Congressman, but Gerald Huizenga as well. Zeeland named one of its parks in honor of the lengthy service that the councilman gave to the city after World War II. Joining Garrett Huizenga on the Youth Council for one-year terms will be Alecia Boeve, Hanna Dozeman, Rebecca Grow, Tyler Klunder, Jordan Meyer and Brian Schrems; Boeve, Grow and Klunder are returnees from the 2012 school year panel.
