HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Charges are pending against an unnamed 21-year-old Hope College sophomore who allegedly broke into an on-campus storage unit off of Fairbanks Avenue near 12th Street yesterday morning. Up to three thousand dollars of damage was done to the barn-style structure used to store golf carts and lawn mowing equipment. Several items taken were eventually recovered, as a wallet dropped at the scene helped Holland Public Safety detectives locate the suspect, who is free pending an arraignment. School officials say that any disciplinary action against the student won’t be taken until the criminal proceedings have been concluded.
