HOLLAND (WHTC) - A 27-year-old Holland man has been charged with armed robbery and being a habitual offender after a holdup of the Speedway gas station on Chicago Drive, east of Waverly Road, over the holiday weekend. Christopher Lee Walker was ordered held on 100-thousand dollars bond after his arraignment Tuesday in 58th District Court. Police say Walker walked into the gas station early Sunday morning, told the clerk on duty that he was armed and prepared to shoot if he didn’t receive all the cash in the store’s two registers. He escaped on foot with an undetermined amount of money. A tip to police investigators, based on surveillance video that had been released, led to Walker’s arrest Monday at the MicroTel Motel. Walker served six years in prison for breaking and entering before being released in January of last year, according to the state's offender registry system.
