DETROIT (WKZO) -- Paid ads by General Motors on Facebook are being reassessed by the automaker.
GM spokesman Tom Henderson made the announcement Tuesday, just days ahead of Facebook's expected initial public offering. His comments come after the "Wall Street Journal" cited sources as saying GM executives found the paid ads had little impact on car purchases.
Sources say GM will quit buying the ads on Facebook. Instead, the company will rely on engagement with Facebook users through content on its profile pages.
