Laketown Twp. Woman Killed, Children Hospitalized in Muskegon Co. Crash

BLUE LAKE TWP., MI (WHTC) - A 24-year-old Laketown Township woman was killed when she and her three children were struck by a vehicle while they were walking along a Blue Lake Township road northeast of Muskegon after dusk last night. Erica Watson died, while four-year-old Hanesis Bell and six-month-old Eryk Quontata are in critical condition at DeVos Children's Hospital, and one-year-old Hollis Bell Jr. was treated and released from that Grand Rapids facility.

The incident occurred in front of the township fire house on Orange Street and East White Lake Drive, as Watson was pushing a stroller. Witnesses say that she and her children were wearing dark clothing, and although there are street lights in that area, it wasn't immediately determined if they were operational at the time of the accident.

The unnamed driver, a 43-year-old Twin Lakes man, hasn’t been charged at this point, as an investigation by the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department continues.
