HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - Two teenaged men were apparently caught red-handed while burglarizing parked vehicles in Holland’s North Side early this morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Mark Bennett, a homeowner in the 300 block of Mayflower Court, near Riley Street and Butternut Drive, called 911 after noticing a man with a flashlight going through the neighborhood and suspiciously peering into vehicles. The caller also described the getaway vehicle, a 2003 white Chevy Malibu, and deputies arriving at the scene were able to stop the car promptly.
The two unnamed suspects – an 18-year-old Zeeland man and a 19-year-old Holland Township man – were arrested, and apparent loot of electronic items and jewelry was recovered. The suspects are in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting arraignment in Holland District Court.
Bennett added that at least three victims were immediately identified, and based on the evidence, there may be more victims involved. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, www.mosotips.com).
