LANSING, MI (WHTC) - The state Boundary Commission decided on Wednesday that June 20 would be the date for a public hearing on a ballot proposal for a consolidated municipal government in Saugatuck and Douglas would be held. The initial hearing was set for next Wednesday morning, but that drew cries of protest from those who could not attend. The SBC had approved the legal sufficiency of signed petitions for a ballot question submitted by a pro-merger group. The new hearing will be held at 4 PM in the gymnasium of Saugatuck High School.
