KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Students from several Kalamazoo area high schools staged a walkout Tuesday morning, marching down to Bronson Park.
The students marched and held vibrant signs sending a message aimed at the Sheriff’s Dept. to stop racial profiling. The goal of the walk-out, as described by one student, was to deliver the message to police agencies who racially profile citizens in effort to identify possible undocumented aliens. Agustin Gascon, a student at Kalamazoo Central, was among a group of about 100 students who took part in the demonstration to downtown Bronson Park. Gascon says they were skipping class to protest for change.
