HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The Holland City Council last night approved a proposed out-of-court settlement of a federal lawsuit filed by the Holland BPW against insurance carrier Indian Harbor. By April 5th, the company has to pay the utility 1.95 million dollars for past legal costs after it had refused to represent the BPW in ongoing litigation filed by the Sierra Club over alleged violations of the federal Clean Air Act during expansion of the DeYoung coal-fired power plant. Indian Harbor will also retain specialized attorneys to help in defending the Sierra Club suit.
