COVERT, MI (WHTC) - Officials of Entergy continue to not set a timetable for when the Palisades nuclear power plant in Covert would reopen. The facility south of South Haven has been voluntarily shut down for the past 11 days due to a gradual leak in a cooling tank. Repairs have been made, but the analysis and evaluation of the tank’s integrity continues, with federal inspectors on hand. The leak is not considered to be a threat to public or plant safety.
