HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Getting one last ride on the water before dusk landed a 25-year-old Grand Rapids man in a hospital bed last night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, Eric Pastoor was wakeboarding behind a boat on a private lake at the Georgetown Shores subdivision between Hudsonville and Jenison as nightfall was nearing. The victim was outside of the wake when the boat turned, slamming him into a boat lift station near the shore, and darkness may have played a factor in the accident.
Pastoor was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment of a broken leg and a deep gash on his forearm. The incident remains under investigation.
