If you've been keeping up with the pulse (or whatever the cyborg equivalent of a pulse is ignition?), then you know that a RoboCop feature film remake is underway. If you knew that, you probably knew that Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) and the great Gary Oldman were on board. And although you might not have known it yet, you probably assumed that Samuel L. Jackson would part of the cast.
The news has broken that the founder of the Yelling school of acting would be taking the role of Pat Novak: an icon in the in-universe television industry with a lot of influence over the people of RoboCopia. So, this sort of sounds like a melding between Jackson's most recent film role, The Avengers' Nick Fury (because of the superheroes, and whatnot), and one of his earliest roles, Mister Señor Love Daddy in Do the Right Thing (the radio DJ who plays a ""voice of God"" type media figure over the neighborhood in the Spike Lee film joint).
In any event, Jackson is always fun onscreen, especially in action/adventure flicks like this one. Plus, the union of an Avengers star and a Dark Knight Rises star (Oldman) in a RoboCop movie is just plain dandy.
