HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - The No Body Contact Advisory for the waters of Lake Macatawa off of Dunton Park Beach on Holland’s North Side was lifted today. Such a caution was issued on Monday due to an algal bloom caused by unseasonably warm weather last weekend. Exposure of the algae could have caused a rash, hives, or skin blisters; swallowing such water could have caused abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting, and inhaling water droplets could have caused runny eyes and nose, a sore throat, asthma-like symptoms, or allergic reactions.
