The presenter, who was a contestant on the current series of the country's Dancing With The Stars show, tells Australia's New Idea magazine she discovered a small tumour ""no bigger than a pea"" on 31 May (12).
Kennerley has credited her stint on the show with helping her find the lump, revealing she noticed something was wrong when she was sewing her beaded bra for a performance.
She says, ""If it hadn't been for that, I might never have noticed the lump. It's a funny thing - the doctor told me if I hadn't lost eight kilograms on DWTS, and if I hadn't been fiddle-faddling with that beaded bra, I might not have realised there was anything wrong for months. I guess you could say DWTS may have saved my life.""
Kennerley insists she never noticed any warning signs she had the disease, adding: ""That's why I thought it could never happen to me. I've always looked after myself, but here I am.""
