LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) - For the second time in as many days, a number of departments responded to a house fire in northern Allegan County. Just before dawn on Saturday, a two-story residence on 145th Avenue east of 64th Street in Laketown Township was ablaze, with flames fully engulfing an attached garage and spreading to the home itself when crews from four communities arrived at the scene. A family of four living inside was able to escape safely, and there were no injuries reported as firefighters were on hand for about three and a half hours. On Friday, a log home on 45th Street near the Rabbit River east of Hamilton went up in flames.
