FARMINGTON HILLS (WKZO) -- A Farmington Hills woman lost her battle with a flesh-eating bacteria Sunday night.

Family members say 33-year-old Crystal Spencer had undergone multiple surgeries after contracting the bacteria.  Her family believes the bacteria took hold of her when she was in the hospital for another procedure earlier this year.

Doctors had performed several skin grafts to repair the damage but could not eliminate the bacteria.
