SAUGATUCK (WHTC) - Allegan County health officials are telling swimmers to stay out of Lake Michigan at Oval Beach in Saugatuck because of elevated E. coli bacteria levels. County Environmental Health Director Bill Hinz says a water sample taken Monday found E. coli levels at Oval Beach of 350 colonies per 100 millliters, slightly above the state standard for safe swimming. Additional samples of the water are being taken.
