In the aftermath of the terrible tragedy that unfolded in Aurora, Colorado, people are now able to put a name and a face to all the horror. A 24-year-old man named James Holmes has now been identified as the alleged shooter and was taken into custody shortly after the event occurred. According to the Aurora Police officials, Holmes is a local resident of the community and lived only a few miles away. Holmes had no prior arrests and his police record only contained ""one traffic summons for speeding.""
A San Diego woman who identified herself as Holmes' mother told ABC News she had awoken unaware of the shooting and had yet to contacted by authorities. However, she immediately expressed concern that her son may have been involved. "You have the right person," she said. "I need to call the police I need to fly out to Colorado."
