UNDATED (WHTC) - Doug Fister allowed just two hits and struck out 10 in eight innings, pitching the Tigers past the visiting LA Angels last night, 7-2. The finale of the four-game series is this afternoon, with coverage from Comerica Park in Detroit on 1450 WHTC beginning at 12:40 PM.

Jeff Baker’s pinch-hit, two-run double highlighted a tie-breaking, four-run seventh inning for the Cubs, who went on to defeat visiting Miami last night, 5-1, in a contest that was halted by rain in the eighth inning. The rubber game of the series at Wrigley Field in Chicago is this afternoon.

Former Whitecap and Tiger Cody Ross belted two three-run homers, while Adrian Gonzalez homered and drove in Boston’s other four runs, as the Red Sox romped past the visiting White Sox last night, 10-1. The four-game series at Fenway Park ends this evening.


Eugenio Suarez celebrated his 21st birthday last night by belting a homer and driving in four runs, the last coming from a double in the 10th inning, to give the Whitecaps a 9-8 victory over visiting Peoria.
