BRADLEY, MI (WHTC) - Officials of the Match-e-be-Nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians announced today that 165 million dollars in outstanding debt incurred in developing and constructing the Gun Lake Casino south of Wayland has been refinanced. This move comes three years in advance of the scheduled maturity date of the original loan through what Tribal Chairman DK Sprague said was improving financial markets and the casino “exceeding expectations” in order to “significantly” reduce borrowing costs. Tribal Gaming Authority CEO John Shagonaby added that, while there are no definitive plans to expand the casino, with this refinancing, “it is now possible.”
