COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Two 21-year-old men ended their Tuesday night on hospital beds, but that may be just the beginning of their troubles.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, the men, identified only as from Grand Rapids and Coopersville, were in a vehicle heading north on 64th Avenue near Cleveland Street in Coopersville around 10 AM, when disaster struck. The car lost control and rolled over several times into a cornfield. The men, who were unbuckled, were thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Although an AeroMed helicopter was called in, the two men were taken by ambulance to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in stable condition. Wildfong added that alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
