HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - It’s 20 Air Quality Alert Days and counting already this season for the Lakeshore as the early summer heat wave that has scorched much of the Midwest continues. The state DEQ has issued more than twice the number of such high pollutant cautions for 2012 than all of last year, when eight such alerts were posted. A heat advisory is also up for much of the Lower Peninsula today. Forecasters say that thunderstorms may crop up in the next few days, but the amount of rainfall isn’t expected to alleviate moderate drought conditions.
