Movies are meant to inspire, but in the case of six-year-old Hellboy fan, Zachary, he's the one who's an inspiration.
While battling leukemia, Zachary made it known to the Make-A-Wish Foundation that he would love ""to meet and become Hellboy."" His wish caught the attention of Spectral Motion, the special effects company behind many of the characters in the 2004 and 2008 comic book movies directed by Guillermo del Toro. It was them who made his wish a reality.
Not only did a team of people transform Zachary into his red-faced onscreen hero, but they also called in Ron Perlman who plays the comic book superhero, Hellboy, in the two live-action feature films of the same name. Perlman made a surprise visit to the fan of the supernatural star after undergoing four hours in the makeup chair to reprise his role as the demonic beast.
The two chatted over a meal of burgers, fries, and shakes which Perlman ordered for Zachary and his family.
Talk about a real-life example of the magic of Hollywood.
