FENNVILLE (WHTC) - Organizers at an estate sale in Fennville got a surprise Saturday when they discovered a live grenade among the items that were available. Michigan State Police from the Wayland post were called in about 12:30 when one of the family members organizing the sale made the discovery. The grenade was carried to the edge of the road while authorities were called. 58th Street was closed in both directions north of M-89 for about 2 1/2 hours while troopers investigated. The grenade was taken by the State Police bomb squad to Grand Rapids to be detonated safely. No one was hurt and 58th Street is back open.
