One evening after being stifled in a no-hitter, the Whitecaps’ bats woke up in Clinton last night, as Jeff Holm keyed an 11-hit attack with two safeties, including a two-run homer, in West Michigan’s 5-1 victory over the LumberKings. Unlike Wednesday evening, when only 706 fans saw Jordan Shipers’ no-no, an announced crowd of 1450 attended last night’s contest. The rubber game of the series at Ashford University Field on the banks of the Mississippi River is this evening.
