ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - Staffers and recent retirees of Zeeland Public Schools have until 3 PM today to get their applications into the district’s administrative offices if they wish to be considered for the vacant Superintendent’s post. Three members of the Board of Education will spend the weekend going over the resumes before submitting a short list of finalists to their colleagues on Monday. The district is, for the moment, looking internally to replace Dr. Dave Barry, who resigned at the beginning of the month after just one year due to public pressure over several admitted plagiarism incidents. David VanGinhoven is acting school chief, but a person to take over for the start of the school year is being sought. The district plans to conduct a larger-scale search for a permanent replacement later this year.
