YPSILANTI (WKZO) -- The president of Eastern Michigan University has agreed to get counseling for an alcohol problem. President Susan Martin said this week that she will get alcohol counseling after being accused of inappropriate conduct.
Martin apparently displayed inappropriate behavior in April with an alumnus in Washington DC in an incident that involved profanity and alcohol. The university's board of regents sent the president a letter in May telling her to immediately deal with her drinking in public or face termination.
On top of getting counseling, Martin has pledged to donate her 87-thousand dollar raise this year to an alcohol awareness program at EMU's Snow Health Center.
