SPARTA (WKZO) -- Michigan's junior U.S. Senator says help is coming for both farmers and fruit processers that are dealing with devastating losses from the weather this year. Senator Debbie Stabenow toured a blueberry farm in Bangor and an apple orchard in Sparta Monday to see the damage inflicted from this year’s erratic weather patterns.
Stabenow commended the state legislature for passing laws allowing for low-interest loans and said there is also help included in the 2012 Farm Bill. The Senate has passed that legislation and it is sitting before the House.
