ZEELAND (WHTC) - Voters in the cities of Holland and Zeeland, as well as Park Township, will be asked later this year to renew a tax levy to support an authority that operates Holland’s West Michigan Regional Airport. The authority’s board of directors Monday voted unanimously to move ahead with the election on the November general election ballot. Voters will be asked whether they want to renew a 0.1-mill levy for the airport authority for five years. In May 2008, voters in Holland, Zeeland and Park Township approved the levy, but Holland Township voters said no. There are no plans to ask HollandTownship whether it wants to join the authority this year, but officials say the township may be approached, perhaps next year, if it wants to reconsider.
