Heat No Problem for Tigers, Cubs & Sox, but Caps Wilt

UNDATED (WHTC) - Delmon Young’s two-run homer in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie, and the Tigers went on to defeat visiting Kansas City last night, 4-2. The series at Comerica Park in Detroit continues this afternoon. Broadcast time on 1450 WHTC is at 3:40 PM.

Anthony Rizzo slugged a three-run homer in a five-run fifth inning for the Cubs, who then held on to beat the Mets in New York last night, 8-7. The series at Citi Field continues this afternoon.

RBI singles by Alexei Ramirez, Gordon Beckham and Kevin Youkilis in the fifth inning were enough for the White Sox to down visiting Toronto last night, 4-2. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.


Lake County hitters rattled four Whitecaps pitchers for 18 hits, while Shawn Morimando and two relievers teamed to pitch a five-hitter, as the visiting Captains won last night, 9-2.
