MERRILL, WI (WTAQ) - The fallout over an alleged marijuana sales ring in the Antigo School District has spread to the Merrill Area Public Schools.

Merrill Interim Superintendent Bruce Anderson said two employees were told they won't be needed at this time, after they were mentioned in a criminal complaint against 3 other men.

Retired Merrill athletic director Peter Miller and current substitute teacher Anthony Crabb have not been charged.

According to prosecutors, Crabb admitted buying up to $400 of marijuana every six months from one of the defendants, Scot Peterson of Antigo. And Miller reportedly admitted buying pot for 15 years.

Both Miller and Crabb have retired from full-time posts at Merrill. Anderson said Miller was still a basketball game official contracted with Merrill.

Peterson, Bradley Maahs, and Antigo high school football coach and elementary principal John Lund have been charged with a total of 37 counts, mostly for selling marijuana.

Authorities say more charges are likely as the investigation continues.
