UNDATED (WHTC) - An Allendale auto body shop and a Marne industrial building were victimized by weekend fires in separate incidents.
Investigators and assessors today are expected to go over the ruins of the Beck Auto and Truck Body shop on Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale, which went up in flames on Saturday morning. No cause was immediately determined after crews from at least five departments responded to the fire, which gutted almost everything inside. The business was closed at the time, so there was no one inside at the time of the blaze.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway into a blaze that destroyed an industrial building in Marne early this morning. Firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Comstock Street west of 8th Avenue to find flames shooting ten to 20 feet into the air, and explosions inside. More than six area fire departments were called to help battle the flames, with no injuries reported. No immediate word as to a cause or a damage estimate.
