HOLLAND (WHTC) - An Ottawa County circuit judge says the city of Holland can go ahead with tearing down a foreclosed home on South River Avenue. Judge Jon Van Allsburg Monday refused to grant Bank of America a 30-day extension to get repairs done on the home, located on River near 14th Street. The city had last year declared the home a dangerous structure and ordered it to be torn down. Bank of America sued the city, saying it had invested 10-thousand dollars into the home, including a new roof. The city says the bank didn’t follow through on putting in a new foundation or replacing windows or siding on the home. The City Council is expected to award bids next week for the demolition work.
