DOUGLAS, MI (WHTC) - A planned dredging of Lake Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo River to Lake Michigan this summer in order to get the SS Keewadin out of its docks and on its way to its new home in Ontario is the subject of a state DEQ public hearing at the Douglas City Hall tonight. There are concerns from environmentalists that such dredging could loosen possible pollutants in silt that came from PCB-laced former paper mills upstream.
