Grand Valley State’s teams had mixed results in Detroit against Wayne State on Saturday. Briaunna Taylor tallied 26 points as the Lady Lakers won the opener, 72-55. Ika Udanoh’s 20-point performance lifted the Warriors to a triumph in the men’s finale, 80-67. GVSU’s teams entertain Ferris State at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale next Saturday evening.

On “Bracket Buster” Saturday in major college basketball: Michigan overcame Ohio State, 56-51; Western Michigan stumbled at North Dakota State, 86-73; Central Michigan succumbed to visiting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 49-47; Eastern Michigan fell at Green Bay, 54-49; Detroit disposed of visiting James Madison, 82-70; and Oakland lost at Illinois State, 79-75.
