GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) - A tough week for Holland High basketball got a little tougher on Friday.
Officials at Union High School in Grand Rapids have postponed a scheduled girls/boys OK Black Conference doubleheader between the Red Hawks and the visiting Dutch unitl Monday due to what they call a "big" water break in the school's gymnasium. As a result, the contests are being pushed back until Monday evening, when the girls play at 6 PM and the boys follow at 7:30 PM.
Two unnamed Holland High boys' players will still sit out this contest per MHSAA rules for their part in a fight that ended last Tuesday's 61-48 victory at Lowell with less than three minutes remaining. That incident remains under investigation by both the Holland and Lowell school districts.
