UNDATED (WKZO) -- Rick Santorum’s campaign is being outspent by Mitt Romney by 12 to 1, and His campaign is so shoe-string, that it doesn’t really have a campaign headquarters, but most of the polls now show him in a dead heat, or leading the former frontrunner, even in Michigan, Romney’s home state. It’s not clear whether it’s because they like Rick or they dislike Mitt.
CBS Pollster Sarah Dutton says Santorum has a lock on the party’s right wing, which he has inherited from Newt Gingrich.
She says unfortunately for both of them, the President’s numbers are also on the rise, because of perceptions the economy is improving.
Romney has the money and organization but so far Santorum has had good timing, peaking just as Iowa caucused and Michigan prepares to vote.
