HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - There may not be any player, coach or official from Holland at Super Bowl 46, but the Lakeshore will still have a presence inIndianapolis.
Fans purchasing game programs at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, or looking at that material online, will see a full-page ad touting this area’s attractions. Sally Laukatis of the Holland Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau says that the media buy will help gain national exposure and reach a totally new, “captive” audience of sports enthusiasts and leisure travelers.
The local CVB, in cooperation with the Great Lakes Bay Region Convention and Visitors Bureau representing the Bay City-Midland-Saginaw area, is reportedly spending less than a 100 grand in buying the space that is branded under the state’s Pure Michigan campaign banner. This financial outlay for up to 70 thousand on site and nearly 600 million online pales in comparison to an average of 3.5 million dollars for a 30-second television spot during the Super Bowl broadcast that will be seen by more than 111 million viewers.
Super Bowl 46 between New England and the New York Giants can be heard on 1450 WHTC, with coverage on Sunday beginning at 4 PM.
