WALLACE (WKZO) -- The first woman elected to the state House from the Upper Peninsula has died at the age of 64.
Judy Nerat served the 108th district, which encompasses Delta, Dickinson and Menominee counties. She served one term in the state House and had run again this year, losing in the Democratic primary in August by 93 votes.
Neither the House Democrats nor Nerat's obituary in the "Escanaba Daily Press" reveal a cause of death.
