MARNE, MI (WHTC) - A 21-year-old Jenison woman is expected to recover from injuries suffered in an early Saturday morning crash, but her legal problems may take longer to heal than her physical ailments.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, rescuers found Kendra Sue Huyser in the ditch, thrown from her vehicle that had been westbound on I-96 near the 8th Avenue entrance east of Marne. A witness told investigators that he saw her speeding car pass another vehicle before losing control, first veering left before skidding right and rolling several times in the ditch.
Huyser was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. After searching for some time, deputies determined that she was alone in the vehicle at the time. Wildfong added that alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
