LANSING (WKZO) -- A Portage woman who took her case all the way to the State Supreme court has gotten her answer, and its not the one she hoped for.
Pam Madison had challenged a ruling from social security, that because her twin children were born after their father had died from illness, they could not be heirs and were therefore not eligible for death benefits.
The twins were born thru invitro fertilization from sperm left by their father, but because the law dictates that only living relatives can be heirs,
The justices ruled that the children are not eligible.
