LANSING, MI (WHTC) - For the last two years of his tenure in the House, Joe Haveman will have a plum assignment. The Holland Republican was named yesterday as the new chairman of that chamber’s Appropriations Committee, replacing term-limited Chuck Moss of Birmingham. Haveman succeeded term-limited Bill Huizenga in the House in 2009, and was the appropriations committee’s majority vice-chair the past two years. Other committee assignments are pending for the new House session that begins next month.
