DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Ford Motor Company is investing ten-million dollars to create a community center in southwest Detroit.
The Dearborn-based automaker announced Operation Brighter Future Tuesday, saying it will open the Ford Resource and Engagement Center at the site of the vacant Mexicantown Mercado. The center will offer job training and education and will also sponsor recreation activities and provide funding for nonprofit organizations to offer services to neighborhood residents.
Ford is also donating two F-450 truck chassis to be used for new ambulances in the city.
