SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - David Johnson will stand trial on various charges related to a triple fatality accident last month east of South Haven. His pickup truck slammed head-on into a car driven by Brittney King, killing her along with two young girls. The defense argued yesterday that the youths could have survived if they were in child seats, and that King was high on heroin with prescription narcotic pain killers in her system. Prosecutors countered that Johnson’s blood alcohol count was four times the legal limit at the time of the accident, and that Johnson has a past history of drunken driving.
