DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Detroit International Bridge Company is being ordered to pay the Michigan Department of Transportation 4.5-million dollars by a judge in Wayne County. The fine is to settle a long-standing dispute between the owner of the Ambassador Bridge and the state concerning the Gateway project to connect the bridge to interstate highways in Detroit. The money is to reimburse MDOT for its costs as it assumed control of the construction after being ordered to do so by a Wayne County circuit judge.
