HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A count of assault with intent to murder has been formally filed against a 17-year-old Park Township man stemming from a weekend stabbing at a 114th Avenue apartment unit. Eric Ortega was ordered held on 750 thousand dollars bond following an arraignment in Holland District Court. He allegedly stabbed his unnamed 32-year-old roommate several times in the neck and chest during an argument on Friday night, and a 21-year-old man who attempted to break up the altercation suffered minor slashes. Ortega was captured about six hours after the incident at a relative’s home, while the roommate remains in critical condition at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital. Ortega is scheduled to appear before Judge Susan Jonas in a pre-preliminary hearing on Friday. Authorities say that the case remains open, and tips to the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com) are welcome.
