LANSING (WKZO) -- Monday was Election Day in Lansing. The Electoral College cast Michigan's votes for President Obama's second term at the state Senate. The 16 presidential electors earned their positions by voters in the state electing Obama over Republican rival Mitt Romney.
State Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer presided over the vote, and then launched into an attack on majority Republicans in the Legislature for rushing through "ill-conceived bills" during the lame duck session, pointing out nearly 25-percent of those lawmakers won't be back in January for another term.
