HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Ottawa County United Way officials disclosed their 2012 Community Assessment Survey yesterday before a luncheon crowd of leading fundraisers at Hudsonville's Pinnacle Center.. Done every three years, the overview goes over demographics, education, financial stability, health and basic needs of the county. While many areas of concern have improved, such as early learning, other facets of life are worsening, such as poverty, obesity, and accessibility of services, which means that, for local United Way President Patrick Moran, the battle is far from over. The survey is meant to focus attention and resources to deal with the problems, and also helps spur contributions to the United Way’s annual fundraising campaign, which Moran says is on track to reach the $2.3 million goal by March.
