MUSKEGON COUNTY (WKZO) -- At least three people have been wounded, including a Muskegon Police Officer after a domestic assault call that turned into a gunfight.
Deputies responded to the 4700 block of Oak Road around 3:30 Saturday morning after it was reported that shots had been fired at the domestic dispute. Several Deputies with Muskegon City Police backing them up, responded and surrounded the place.
That’s when the suspect came out and wounded a female City Officer with a long gun. The 20- year veteran was hit in the leg. The other officers and deputies returned fire wounding the man. The suspect, in his 40’s, is expected to survive.
Chief Dean Roesler says the officer is also expected to recover. In fact she is already talking about getting back to work. The suspect had already wounded a family friend, who had tried to intervene in the domestic dispute. They are also expected to recover.
