HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The sparkle of the first lighting of thousands of Christmas lights in the trees and around Centennial Park highlight the start of the annual Dutch WinterFest in downtown Holland this evening. A number of activities are slated at the park, as well as at the Holland Armory and in the Holland Museum, as the Tulip City welcomes Sinterklaas, the Dutch version of St. Nicholas, who will be parading through the area on his white horse and with his Zwarte Piet helpers. There will also be singing children carrying lighted lanterns accompanying him.
